Jamshedpur, March 27: The 85th Basanti Durga Puja commenced on Chaitra Navratri from Monday under the auspices of Sakchi Chenab Road Durga-Kali Bari. The worship and Akaal Bodhan rituals commenced on Thursday evening with Bel Baran (Welcoming Devi with Bel fruit and leaves). Maha Saptami prayers will be initiated with Nava Patrika Pravesh rituals on Tuesday, March 28. The religious proceedings will include Pushpanjali to the deity following which the Devi’s consecrated food (Prasad) will be distributed among devotees. On the following day, Wednesday, March 29, Maha Ashtami puja will be performed that would be inclusive of Pushpanjali and Prasad distribution. Maha Navami Puja will be performed on Thursday, March 30 and will commence early in the morning. The idol of the deity will be immersed on Friday, March 31 after performance of Dashami Puja.
