Jamshedpur : In the Jagannathpur Block office complex of West Singhbhum district district, unidentified thieves decamped with 85 bags of mid-day meal and rice after breaking the lock adjacent to the BRC office behind the office of Block Education Extension Department has come to light. But even after three days of the incident, a case has not been registered in the local police station regarding the stolen rice by the Education Department. Whereas, the employees working in the Jagannathpur Block office live close to the same warehouse.
Not only this, 50 meters from the godown is the residence of Jagannathpur Sub-Divisional Officer and security personnel. Despite this, the theft of 85 sacks of rice is unthinkable. When asked by the SDO in this regard, it was told that this information has not been given yet. He said to inquire into the matter.
According to the information, the rice allotted to the mid-day meal was given to the schools by the Food Supply Department 15-20 days ago, the said rice was kept in its warehouse by the Education Department. Two days ago, unknown thieves broke the lock of the said warehouse and dripped 85 sacks of rice. When the BRC people arrived in the morning on the second day, they saw that the warehouse lock was broken and there were no rice sacks.
