Ranchi, Oct 13: Secretary IT Department Sunil Kumar Burnwal said that in order to strengthen Digital India Program, spread IT related awareness & make students IT oriented, the state govt. has started to implement IT related schemes.
He said that IT related competition IT Talent Search Udaan -2015 is being conducted all over the State with a view to kindle IT related queries among students and promote IT in the state. More than 80 thousand students are appearing in it.
Burnwal who is also secretary to CM said that the competition will boost up use of IT tools, usage & awareness among the students. He said that the competition will be conducted in three phases. On the 15th October, more than 80,000 students are appearing in the 1st phase of examination.
50 IT related multiple choice questions will be asked in this examination which the students will answer on the OMR sheet.
On the basis of their performance, two students of each group of the participating schools will be selected for the district level On Line competition. Thereafter, 11 teams will be selected on district level, who will participate in the online competition to be conducted on state level on 31st October, 2015.
He hoped that this large number of enrolled students will give new dimension to IT in the state. This competition has been conducted by Mica Education Group in collaboration with the HRDD, Jharkhand. It aims at fostering competitive outlook in the students along with increasing their interest in IT. He said that a considerable number of students are from rural background whose exam is conducted free of cost.
Mr. Burnwal said that ‘ IT Talent Search ‘ Udaan -2015 will be conducted in three categories. Students of std. VII & VIII will appear in category ‘ A’, Students of std. IX & X will appear in category ‘ B’ whereas Students of std. XI & XII will go for category ‘ C.’ He said that DEOs of all the districts have been given necessary direction in this regard.
Mr. Burnwal said that out of the total teams, 5 will be chosen from Govt. schools, 3 teams from govt. aided schools & 3 will be from private schools. District wise 11 participating teams will go for audio- visual round and quiz competition on state level and finally 6 teams will be chosen on state level.
He also said that the competition winning students will be felicitated with mementos, certificates & prizes. The best competitors will be given 3 tablet PCs, 12 mobile sets, 30 calculators, 72 memory cards, 90 mementos, 42 trophies & 542 other attractive prizes. Moreover, all school topper teams will also be felicitated.
He said that mobiles can prove to be a powerful medium in equipping people with IT. Under IT Talent Search Program, IT department & mobile apps hackathon are trying to promote M- Governance.
He said that 100 competitors from different spheres of the nation & 50 from the state will work round the clock developing software.
It aims at bringing transparency in health care, payment mechanism and online- offline services & promote a good start up culture in the state. He said that workshop will be conducted for common people also.
