Jamshedpur: The seventh edition of the UFC Trophy two-day football tournament, organized by the UFC family, was inaugurated today at the Golmuri UBC Ground amid much enthusiasm and sporting spirit.
The tournament was inaugurated by the chief guest, noted social worker Shiv Shankar Singh, who encouraged the players to display discipline, teamwork, and true sportsmanship throughout the competition. Tayyab Khan, Shahrukh Malik, Shahi Adil, and Firoz Alam were also present during the inaugural ceremony.
The two-day tournament has drawn teams from Kolkata, Durgapur, and various other places, with a total of 32 teams participating this year. The event aims to promote local football talent and strengthen community engagement through sports.
As per the organizers, the champion team will be awarded a cash prize of ₹1.25 lakh and a trophy, while the runner-up will receive ₹85,000. The third and fourth place teams will be given ₹30,000 and ₹20,000 respectively. In addition, awards for Man of the Match and Man of the Series will also be presented to recognize outstanding individual performances.
The opening day witnessed exciting matches and enthusiastic participation from players and spectators alike, as football fever gripped the city once again. The final match and prize distribution ceremony will take place on Sunday.
