79 JNTVTI trainees placed, institute hosts award function

Jamshedpur: The JN Tata Vocational Training Institute (JNTVTI) today organised a function to celebrate the successful completion of training for three batches of JNTVTI pass-outs. All the 79 JNTVTI trainees who have passed have found placement in the organisation of vendor partners of Tata Steel. This is a tremendous achievement when compared with placement records of any technical training establishment in the country. R Ravi Prasad, President, Tata Workers Union, was the Chief Guest at the function.

Speaking on the occasion, R. Ravi Prasad gave a background on how the idea of JNTVTI was conceived. The need to provide employment opportunities to Tata Steels employees wards, and an urgent requirement to improve skill and safety performance of vendors employees were the triggers for establishing JNTVTI from the award money of Prime Ministers Trophy received by Tata Steel for The Best Integrated Steel Plant. This decision was taken jointly by Management and Union of Tata Steel.

Giving his remarks Anjani K Sahay, Director JNTVTI spoke about the various skill development training programmes that have been identified, designed and developed in consultation with vendors of Tata Steel and subject matter experts. MK Verma, Dy. Director JNTVTI proposed the vote of thanks.

JN Tata Vocational Training Institute (JNTVTI), a Charitable Trust and a training institute by the same name, set-up by Tata Steel Ltd., aspires to be one of the leading players in the country to provide the necessary skills to the youth to take advantage of a bright future.
