7500 kg waste collected from Subarnarekha

Jamshedpur: Team JUSCO, Tata Steel Sports department and Tata Steel Adventure Foundation along with volunteers from Beyond Fitness, Inner Wheel Clubs, Rotary Clubs, Change India Foundation, YI, Kids International and others, made an effort to clean Subarnarekha near the Domuhani stretch during the river cleaning drive from 6am to 9am on April 7. More than 170 volunteers toiled together and collected waste of about 7500 kg maximum of which were discarded clothes and plastic.

The most amazing part of this activity was the presence of little children from the near by bastis who helped make this a truly successful event. Padma Shri Premlata Agarwal was also part of the team.

The team urged all citizens of Jamshedpur to help by making an effort not to dirty this area and keep river bed clean. Be Zimmedaar towards your own Shaher and save natural resources to keep city beautiful, green and clean.
