Seraikela, Sep 10: A 75 year-old widow, identified as Budhni Boypai, was killed in Khaparsai village of Seraikela police station area on Friday evening.
Sources said the family members of the deceased found her bleeding around 9 pm on the day of the incident. Randai Boypai, daughter-in-law of the deceased, reportedly saw that Budhni had sustained injury on her head. She soon informed her neighbours and the local Mukhiya Soma Purty. Budhni died of critical head injury, sources said.
Next day, police reached the village and took Budhni’s body in their possession. The body was sent to Seraikela Sadar Hospital for postmortem examination. Manohar Kumar, officer in-charge of Seraikela PS, said prima facie it looks like a case of murder.
SP Seraikela-Kharsawan Anand Prakash reached the crime scene and inquired about the incident. He said the victim was killed with sharp weapons and added that the case would be solved soon.
