71 units of blood collected at MNPS camp

Jamshedpur, April 25: A blood donation camp was organized at Motilal Nehru Public School on Monday. The camp was inaugurated by Col. Biswajit Das, Commanding Officer (37 Jharkhand Battalion, NCC) located at Sonari in the steel city.

Altogether 71 units of blood were collected at the camp. A team of doctors from Jamshedpur Blood Bank under the guidance of Dr. Ritu Singh helped to make the blood donation a success. The program received immense support from the school management, parents, faculty members and students. The school cabinet and Sunil Mukherjee of the Voluntary Blood Donor’s Association, Jharkhand, played an active role.

Students Saniya Imtiaz and Badal Manocha did the compeering.

During summer months there is an acute crisis of blood and, therefore, the need for active participation at this time. Col. Biswajit Das supported as well as congratulated the institution for organizing this camp every year, this being the 19th consecutive year. It was an inspiring moment for all when the chief guest himself became the first donor.

Akhilesh Kumar Dubey, chairman, school managing committee, congratulated parents and students for donating blood. Teachers S.M.Swain, Moli Deb, and Keya Adak played an active role along with students for this noble cause.

R.P.Tyagi (former President) addressed the gathering and expressed happiness over the school’s involvement in such community initiatives. Several committee members and the UP Sangh members graced the occasion. Principal Ashu Tiwary delivered the vote of thanks.
