Jadugora: Around 65 employees of Narwa Pahar Uranium Project have gone on strike in the underground mine of Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) on Monday.
In view of the agitation, puffed rice (Murhi) was sent down to the agitation site to ensure that the workers do not face starvation. Extending moral support to the agitating workers, the B-shift employees too, announced their decision to back the strike.
The agitating UCIL employees demanded that the new pay-scale agreement between the workers union and the company management should be implemented without delay.
They said the implementation was long due. They said an MoU was signed between the management and the workers union on giving 15 per cent granted benefit to the employees as per the agreement signed in March 2016.
