Jamshedpur: The district administration has intensified the campaign to prevent dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases. In the last three days, dengue larvae have been checked in more than 60,000 houses. If larvae were found, anti-mosquito medicine was promptly sprayed.

The campaign includes the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee, Mango Municipal Corporation, Jugsalai Municipal Council, Chakulia Nagar Panchayat, and the Jusco team. These teams inspected approximately 40,000 containers in municipal areas, such as water tanks, coolers, drums, pots, fridge trays, and water-accumulating tires kept on roofs and in junk piles. Among these, 360 containers with detected larvae were treated, and other containers were emptied.

The District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner emphasized that effective control and action on mosquito-borne diseases during the rainy season require eliminating potential mosquito breeding sources.

Accordingly, anti-larva spraying, fogging, and cleaning with bleaching powder are being carried out. Since the first week of July, a special communicable disease control campaign has been active in municipal areas, undertaking various preventive activities in the urban regions.
