Jamshedpur, June 5: Pre-monsoon showers lashed the city on Friday evening bringing chears for the residents.
But it came as a horror for the Dhatkidih based family whose 6-year-old son died after being drowned in an over flowing drain at Old Purulia Road in Mango.
The body of the boy was recovered from Subarnrekha River near Workers College.
The deceased was identified as Farhan who had come to his maternal garndmother�s house for summer vacation and while playing he fell off in the drain on Friday evening.
Until, the people could understand what to do or how the boy fell the strong flow of the drain took him far away.
After an intense search for over two hours, locals and Mango Police fished out the body on later on Friday.
The locals then took him to MGM Hospital were the doctors declared him brought dead.
It may be noted that exactly a year ago a boy had drowned in the same drain but no safety measures have been taken.
After 2014 incident DC visited the area and had ordered Mango Notified Area Committee (MNAC) to make the drain safe for the locals and children who play in the open but adminsitration officials have not learnt from the previous mistakes which resulted in another incident in 2015.
