Jamshedpur: The three-day 5th Gopeshwar Lal Das Memorial Tata Inter Companies Union Volleyball Tournament–2025, organised by the Tata Motors Sports Department, commenced on Friday at the TML Sports Complex. The inaugural ceremony was attended by several senior officials and union leaders from Tata group companies.
Among the chief guests were Tata Motors GMs Sanjay Sinha and Rajiv Bansal, ER Head Soumik Roy, Tata Motors Workers’ Union President Shashi Bhushan Prasad, General Secretary R.K. Singh, along with representatives from various workers’ unions including Tata Workers’ Union, TRF Labour Union, Tata Cummins Kamgar Union, JCAPCPL Workers’ Union, Tata Tinplate Workers’ Union and others.

All guests were welcomed with potted plants by the Tata Motors Workers’ Union. As a mark of respect, floral tributes were paid to the portrait of late Gopeshwar Lal Das. The tournament was formally inaugurated by releasing balloons, symbolising sportsmanship and unity.
The guests appreciated the Tata Motors Workers’ Union and its team for organising the tournament efficiently and wished success to all participating teams. The programme was conducted by Prakash Vishwakarma, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Union General Secretary R.K. Singh.
