56th annual conference of clinical society begins at TMH

Jamshedpur, March 16: The 56th Annual Conference of Clinical Society was inaugurated today by  Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice-President Corporate Services Tata Steel at the TMH auditorium.

The Clinical Society of TMH established in 1962 is a vibrant scientific body of the Hospital. It is a forum for scientific deliberation for doctors of TMH. It conducts two meetings weekly where topics on different specialities of the medical practice are deliberated upon. This is in addition to two conferences held every year – half yearly and annual. In the current year, the President is Dr. S Pradhan and the Secretary is Dr. S. Srivastava.

Chaudhary appreciated the scientific work being done by the Clinical Society and doctors of TMH. He wished them success for the conference.

The 56th Annual Conference is a two and a half day scientific extravaganza. Guest Speakers of national repute will deliver talks. The Conference will also have panel discussions and symposia spanning several specialities.  Around 50 scientific papers will be presented and six hands-on workshops for doctors would take place: EEG and Neurological evaluation, ECHO and ECG and cardiac evaluation, Surgical skills, Eye examination, How to intubate and How to manage ventilators. A major highlight of the Conference is the Mobile Laparoscopy Training Lab, in association with Johnson and Johnson. It is the first of its kind in this region.

The Conference also has a Cultural Programme lined up at the JRD Tata Sports Complex where the in-house talent of TMH – doctors in a different role, will participate in dance programmes, musical programmes and a rock show.
