Jamshedpur: Under the aegis of the Jharkhand Government’s Tourism Development Corporation Limited, a group of 55 Hindu devotees, including attendants, set off on a pilgrimage to Dwarka-Somnath. The bus carrying the pilgrims was flagged off from the Collectorate premises by Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar and District Sports Officer Avinesh Tripathi, who extended their best wishes for a pleasant journey.
The pilgrims will travel from East Singhbhum to Hatia Railway Station in Ranchi, where they will board a train for Dwarka-Somnath. This seven-day pilgrimage, starting on July 23 and concluding on July 30, 2024, is a significant spiritual journey for the participants.
The pilgrimage, organized by the Jharkhand government, includes residents of Jharkhand who are over 60 years of age, fall under the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category, and are physically healthy. The Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation and District Administration of East Singhbhum have made robust arrangements to ensure the comfort and safety of the pilgrims.
To oversee the well-being of the travelers, Amarnath Sharma has been appointed as the Nodal Officer. Additionally, physical teacher Sushma Devi and two fourth-class employees, Bandana Devi and another assistant, will accompany the group to provide support throughout the journey on behalf of the District Administration, East Singhbhum.
The departure of the pilgrimage group marks the beginning of a spiritually enriching journey for the elderly devotees, promising memorable and profound experiences at the sacred sites of Dwarka and Somnath.
