Ranchi: The forest department of Jharkhand is getting encroached upon. According to the data of the forest department, 50 thousand hectares of forest land is under encroachment. Recently, a case of misappropriation of 70 acres of forest land has come to light in Bokaro, in which former PCCF AK Rastogi has come under investigation. At the same time, in the case of encroachment in forest land, many senior IFS officers may also be charged.
In Jharkhand, there was no increase in forest density. The density of dense forest is decreasing. But in various projects, about 13 billion forest land has been allocated in the name of the projects. A maximum of seven thousand hectares of forest land has been given for mining projects. At the same time, 14,000 hectares of forest land was given to private and public sector companies. The price of all these is estimated at Rs 13 billion
