Jamshedpur, April 26: The 4th Inter Ramakrishna Mission Schools Chess Tournament 2024 organised by Ramakrishna Mission English School, Bistupur commenced today.
A total of 42 students from 11 different schools are participating in the tournament
Divided into junior and senior categories with 22 and 20 participants respectively, the tournament will consist of 5 rounds for each category.
The tournament on Friday was inaugurated by the chief guest Srimat Swami Istapremanandji Maharaj.
Other guests present on the occasion were Pankaj Saha, Principal of Sri Ramakrishna High School Bistupur, K. Rajani, Principal of Ramakrishna Mission English School Bistupur cum tournament director, Divya Tanna, Principal of Sumona Dutta Memorial School Baliguma.
Also present were Physical Education teacher Deepak Srivastava from Ramakrishna Mission English School Bistupur, Chief Arbiter Jayant Kumar Bhuiyan, Tournament Technical Director FA Chandan Kumar Prasad, and others.
The competition promises recognition for winners and runners-up in both categories, with all participants receiving certificates of participation.
