48 boxes of illegal foreign liquor recovered in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: The Excise Department launched a campaign against the sale of illegal liquor on Sunday. During the drive, 37 boxes of foreign liquor were recovered from a hut house in Kitadih under Parsudih police station area and 11 boxes from Vinod Das’s house in Kovali, Mango. Liquor seller Vinod Das was arrested from Kovali.

The value of the seized liquor is believed to be around Rs 1 lakh. This action was taken on secret information. Excise Department ASI Mahendra Devgan said that information was received that liquor is being sold secretly in Kitadih and Kovali. Liquor boxes were recovered during a raid at a cottage-like house in Kitadih. In Kovali, the department had received information about Vinod Das selling liquor stealthily from his house. During the raid, liquor boxes were recovered from Vinod Das’s house. It is learned that Vinod Das was selling liquor from his house for the last several months. He has been arrested.
