46th MAXI Fair Brings Jamshedpur Together with Two Days of Music, Creativity and Celebration

Jamshedpur: The 46th edition of the MAXI Fair, organised by the Marketing Association of XLRI (MAXI), turned the XLRI Football Ground into a vibrant hub of culture, creativity, and community spirit.

The event started on January 17, and over two lively days, the fair reaffirmed its reputation as one of Jamshedpur’s most cherished annual events, drawing families, students, and residents from across the city.

From the very first afternoon, the fairgrounds buzzed with laughter, music, and activity, reflecting the city’s collective enthusiasm for pausing from routine life and celebrating together.

Day 1: Talent, Style and Nostalgia

The opening day showcased a rich mix of competitions and performances. MasterChef emerged as a highlight, with participants presenting inventive dishes that blended creativity with culinary skill, delighting both judges and spectators.

Music lovers gathered in large numbers for Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, where contestants across age groups filled the air with soulful melodies and powerful performances, earning warm applause from an engaged audience.

One of the most heartwarming segments was the Fancy Dress Competition, where children confidently took to the stage dressed as everyday objects and iconic personalities, drawing loud cheers from proud parents. The excitement continued with the Mr & Mrs Jamshedpur Fashion Show, as participants impressed the crowd with elegance, confidence, and individual talents ranging from singing to dancing.

Food stalls remained the fair’s constant attraction, offering a variety of flavours, while the Mela Zone kept children and adults entertained with rides, games, and prizes.

The evening reached a high point with a live performance by Bollywood singer Neeraj Shridhar, whose popular numbers turned the grounds into a massive sing-along, closing Day 1 on a vibrant and nostalgic note.

Day 2: Art, Dance and a Soulful Finale

The second day began on a colourful note with Art Attack, where young participants transformed the grounds into a canvas of imagination using crayons and paints, much to the delight of parents and onlookers.

Energy levels soared with Dance Mania, featuring electrifying solo and group performances across classical, western, and fusion styles. The audience responded with loud applause as performers displayed precision, emotion, and flair.

Adding a fun, interactive element was Bollywood Trivia Night, which saw film enthusiasts competing with quick recall and wit. Laughter, friendly rivalry, and spontaneous dance moments gave the event the feel of a lively family gathering.

As with Day 1, food stalls and the Mela Zone continued to draw crowds throughout the day.

The fair concluded on a memorable note with a soulful performance by Bollywood singer Mohit Chauhan. Sharing his personal connection with Jamshedpur and filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, who attended the event with his family, Chauhan’s melodies created a magical atmosphere that lingered long after the final song.
