Jamshedpur: A 45-year-old man surrendered before the police after killing his wife at their house on Vikash Path in Baridih under Sidhgora area. The assailant, Abhishek Kumar, who is driver murdered his wife, Sandhya Devi (40). Abhishek had two daughters and a son, one of the daughters is already married.
According to sources, Sandhya had fought with Abhishek over her demand for the scooter that she had wanted on Friday. As Abhishek refused to give her, she started quarrelling with the husband. The husband who was already upset with his wife’s extra-marital affair picked up an iron rod and hit her head hard, causing her to fall down in a pool of blood.
OC, Sidhgora thana Manoj Kumar Thakur confirmed about a man identified as Abhishek Kumar to have surrendered before the police having killed his wife.
“We have started the investigation. We taken the assailant Abhishek Kumar under custody and have registered a case of murder against the assailant on the FIR lodged by his son, Roshan Kumar,” said Thakur.
In the FIR, the assailant’s son Roshan has stated that his father killed his mother as she was demanding Rs 70,000 for buying a scooter. But the allegation related to the murder victim’s extra-marital affair was made by Abhishek himself at the police station.
The police have recovered the body and sent it to the MGM Medical College mortuary for post-mortem.
