Jamshedpur, July 31: A 40-year-old woman died after being hit by a train. She was found lying in pieces on the railway bridge over Kharkai River under Jugsalai police station area this morning.
The body which is yet to be identified appears and was killed by an unknown train while crossing the 300-metre-long railway bridge that connects Jugsalai in Jamshedpur with Adityapur.
The police have recovered the body and sent it to the MGM Medical College mortuary for post-mortem having registered a case of mishap death.
Officer-in-charge, Jugsalai police station, Laxman Paswan said that this is a case of mishap.
�We are investigating. Though the body was not identified, but we suspect the mishap victim must be a resident of any slum in Adityapur area,” said Paswan. In response to a query, the officer-in-charge said the place where the body was found lying was meant for train to pass only.
The woman must have come to a slag-dump at Jugsalai for picking slag-iron after crossing the railway bridge from Adityapur.
While returning home to Adityapur, she must have followed the same route, but unfortunately met the mishap on the track in the middle of the bridge.
