Jamshedpur: In protest against death of a 40-year-old man due to alleged medical negligence, a group of aggrieved people protested near the gate of MGM Medical College Hospital in Sakchi. The protestors carrying the body during the protest took away the body after intervention of police.

The deceased, Vishnu Pradhan, a resident of Mango, was admitted at the medical college hospital at about 7 pm on Wednesday. The patient had been brought by his family members with a complaint of acute pain in lower abdomen. He succumbed to his illness at the hospital at 6 am today.

Family members of the deceased said after being shifted to the medical ward his brother remained at rest for about two hours, but after he started complaining of the same pain in the abdomen.

” We want a high level investigation. Despite informing to the duty nurse, neither any nurse did come nor did any doctor. He was reeling in pain the whole night and in the early morning at about 6 am he died. After half-an-hour later a doctor came and declared him as dead,” said a member of the family.
