More than 40 schools from Bihar and Jharkhand to participate in RYLA

Jamshedpur : The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (popularly known as RYLA) is being organised by Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West from Nov 7 to Nov 9 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex.

More than 40 schools from Bihar and Jharkhand with 250 students from age 14 years to 18 years will participate at the event.

The aim is to help the students grow into good men and women, responsible members of the society and dutiful citizens.

A series of lectures, panel discussion, ice breaking among students and other workshops are planned to help youngsters take up leadership qualities.

Also there will be aerobics, motivational speaking, nukkad natak, cultural programme, Run for Fun, awareness on Rotary Exchange programmes.

” Through RYLA we want to develop the leadership capabilities in students,” said rotarian Pratim Banerjee.
RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) is a leadership development programme for STUDENTS hosted and sponsored by Rotary Clubs in the district.

RYLA is an experiential live-in programme designed to help young people develop their team work and communication skills and fulfil their potential as leaders.

�The camp offers the participants a special opportunity to develop the qualities of leadership and good citizenship. You will be asked to assume leadership roles in a variety of activities.

Each day several outstanding motivational speakers will make presentations and hold workshops. Many “group-working” activities will be held.

There is also plenty of time for sports, recreation, camaraderie and sharing,� said another official.

Officials of the club said that at camp RYLA students will have the opportunity to learn more about themselves through the voices and eyes of people who have experienced life, people who can help one see things from a different viewpoint.

�The students will learn not only from special speakers and attending Rotarians, but by interacting with other experts from all walks of life,� noted a club official.
