Jamshedpur, Sept. 11:�Coronavirus cases continue to rise in Jamshedpur with the city reporting 201 positives and four deaths on Friday, September 11. Positive tally has climbed 9844 while the death toll has reached 255. Of the four deaths in Jamshedpur, 73-year-old Mango resident succumbed to the virus. 56-year-old Potka resident admitted to TMH with breathing difficulties on September 8 died during treatment on September 11. Similarly, Telco resident 69-yr-old man also succumbed to the virus on Friday. Fourth death due to COVID in Jamshedpur was of 74-year-old man from Kadma. Three people from Adityapur in Seraikela-Kharsawan district and one from West Singhbhum district also succumbed to the virus on Friday. 83 people recovered of the virus on Friday taking the total recovery to 6793 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 2796. The district administration spokesperson informed that 201 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Friday. ��
In Jharkhand COVID-19 tally is nearing 60 thousand mark with the single-day spike of 780 fresh cases, while the number of recoveries surged past 42 thousand, state health department bulletin showed.
Corona positive cases have climbed to 58859. Friday’s health bulletin also attributed 8 deaths to the disease taking the state death toll to 525.
1127 people have recovered and were discharged from various COVID hospital�s across the state on Friday. More than 42 thousand people have recovered in Jharkhand till date while around 15 thousand active cases are still present in the state.
Seraikela reported 21 new cases on Friday while 66 positives have come up in West Singhbhum.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease.
The Jharkhand government has extended the coronavirus pandemic-triggered lockdown in containment zone in the state till September 30. However, all the economic activities in the state are allowed outside containment zones.
The hotels, dharmshala, lodge and guest houses reopened after around 6 months following SOPs and guidelines of the government. Restaurants and shopping malls also resumed after a long time.
