4 critically injured in clash over fish trade at Majhgaon in West Singhbhum

Chaibasa/Majhgaon, Dec 1: More than half a dozen people were injured in a bloody clash between two groups in Majhgaon in West Singhbhum district over fish trade.

The injured are being treated at Majhgaon Community Health Center. On Wednesday morning, at around 9 o’clock in the Majhgaon main square, a fight broke out between the fish merchant Amir group and the Aftab group.

In the fight, the people of both the groups clashed with each other with sword, rod, stick and knife. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police of Majhgaon police station reached the main square and removed the people of both the groups. Along with this, the injured people were taken to hospital. In this, Mozaffar Hussain’s head was damaged from Aftab faction, Nasiullah, Abdul Ahad, Mohd. Samiullah, Matal is injured. While from the Amir faction, Nazim Akhtar, Rehan Ahmed and Sarwar Alam sustained head injuries while Azim Akhtar was injured.

 The dispute started on Wednesday morning at 6 am regarding giving fish in Chaibasa. The people of both the groups were giving fish to a merchant. During this, there was a dispute in the transaction of price. The people of both the groups gave information about this in Majhgaon by phone. After this a bloody conflict started between the two groups.

Giving information in this regard, Prashant Gaurav, Sub Inspector of Majhgaon police station said that there has been a dispute between two groups regarding fish trade. The police reached as soon as the information about the fight between the two groups was received. Seeing the police, everyone ran away. Some people lying in injured condition were picked up by the police and taken to Majhgaon Referral Hospital.

Police force has been deployed all around inside Majhgaon township. In view of the bloody conflict between the two groups, Kumardungi Police and Inspector MP Singh also reached the spot with the help of team and pacified the atmosphere. Written application has not been received from both the groups. After getting the written, legal action will be taken against the police accused. Along with this, action will also be taken against those who disturb the peace after investigation.
