Saraikela, April 20: The unrestrained surge in COVID positive cases continued on Tuesday with 39 more infected persons being detected. COVID tests were conducted on 838 persons on Tuesday. The total number of active cases in the district jumped to 4,171. The recovery count stood at 3,736. District Civil Surgeon, Dr Himanshu Bhushan Barwar informed that 39 COVID positive cases had been detected on Tuesday in the district. He said that the total number of corona positive cases climbed to 4,171. So far the district had recorded 12 deaths due to COVID. 21 new positives have come up from Gamharia block, 9 from Saraikela block, 5 from Kharsawan, 3 from Rajnagar and 1 from Ichagarh.
Presently, 423 positive patients were undergoing treatment. Five patients recovered of the virus on Tuesday.
