Gumla: Co-Secretary of the Jharkhand Handball Federation and founder of Sports Academy Gumla Syed Junnu Rain has been appointed as the manager of the Jharkhand Beach Handball team for the 38th National Games.
The event will be hosted in Uttarakhand from January 28 to February 14, where only states and players ranked in the top 7 of the Senior Nationals are eligible to participate.
Rain will lead the Jharkhand team at the Beach Handball tournament to be held at Uttarakhand’s Rishikesh. The matched will be held at TBD venue from January 27 to February 1.
Junnu talking to The Avenue Mail said, “Gumla once known as a sports city, is regaining its status thanks to the efforts of the Sports Academy.”
He added that two talented players from the Sports Academy Gumla, Deepak Kumar and Vikram Raj Thakur, have also been selected for the 38th National Games.
Sports Academy President Hafizur Rahman congratulated Syed Junnu Rain by garlanding him, while social worker and Hindustan Hotel’s Manish Sahu offered sweets and extended his best wishes. The event was attended by Christina Toppo, senior players Vikas Sahu, Deepak Kumar, Vikram Raj, Arib Abideen, Tausif, Aqeebul, and Preeti.
