36th Shyam Mahotsav celebrated with grandeur at Shiv-Shyam Mandir

Jamshedpur: The 36th Shri Shyam Mahotsav was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm at Sakchi Shiv-Shyam Mandir on Saturday. The temple premises were beautifully adorned with flowers and the entire atmosphere was filled with chants of “Jai Shri Shyam” as thousands of devotees participated in the grand festivities.

A highlight of the celebration was the 1351 Nishan Yatra, which began from Sakchi Shiv Mandir after traditional prayers. The procession passed through Sakchi Bazar Dalda Line, Palang Market Chowk, Sakchi Birsa Munda Chowk, State Mile Road and Kashidih, finally concluding with the offering of Nishan to Baba Shyam. During the procession, artist Mahavir Agarwal mesmerized devotees with soulful bhajans, while a beautifully decorated chariot carrying Baba Shyam’s idol led the way, accompanied by two horse riders carrying grand flags of Baba Shyam and Hanuman ji.

In the morning, flag worship was conducted by Mamta-Manoj Agarwal, while in the evening, main host Ram Krishna Chaudhary (Biju Babu) and his family performed the Akhand Jyot Poojan under the guidance of priests Vipin Jha and Ramji Parik. The event featured Shobha Yatra, grand court, divine decorations, Chhappan Bhog, Akhand Jyot and Sankirtan, with contributions from several temple committee members.

As night fell, Bhajan artists Reshmi Sharma (Samastipur) and Vivek Sharma (Kolkata) enthralled devotees with devotional songs, making them dance in divine joy. The event concluded with devotees applying gulal and exchanging Holi greetings, marking a vibrant and spiritual celebration.
