Jamshedpur, Nov 24: Seraikela-Kharsawan Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Returning Officer A Dodde Saturday said the district administration had made adequate arrangements to ensure free and fair polling at all polling booths across the district. He said there are a total of 368 super sensitive polling booths in Seraikela and Kharsawan.
Addressing a press conference with Superintendent of Police Karthik S, Dodde said election symbols had been allotted to seven candidates in Seraikela and 16 candidates in Kharsawan. Preparations are being made for polling on 7th December. There are a total of 713 polling booths that will go to polls on this day. There are 561 sensitive polling booths while 61 polling booths are normal, he said.
The SP said the district police had initiated action against 536 people under Section 107 of CRPC ahead of the Assembly polls. Persons of dubious character and those who can affect free and fair elections are being sent notices under this section, he said.
The SP said there are a total of 778 persons with arms licence in the district. So far, 645 persons have deposited their arms.
