Jamshedpur : A 35-year-old man, Mohammed Aftab alias Nepali was stabbed to death at Garib Nawaz Colony along the railway line under Jugsalai thana area early this morning. The victim was a resident of Panchhi Mohalla in Jugsalai.
In this connection, the police have arrested one Mohammed Ballu after registering a case of murder against four persons on the FIR lodged by the murder victim’s widow Sangeeta Bano. The accused are Mohammed Sadam, Mohammed Danish and Amman Sheikh, all residents of Jugsalai and having criminal records.
According to the FIR, Ballu had come to Nepali’s house at about 9 pm on Monday and had taken the victim along. The victim did not return home in the night and at about 5.30 am today his body was found lying in a pool of blood beside the railway track.
Officer-in-charge, Jugsalai police station Laxman Paswan came into action on getting the FIR and raided the houses of all the four accused. Except Ballu, rest of the accused were found absconding. The police arrested Ballu. The murder victim had a criminal background and was accused in 17 criminal cases, including in Arms Act.
The officer-in-charge said Nepali had gone to jail for being involved in crime in a number of time and last time had returned from the jail two months ago.
After Ballu (27) was arrested, the residents of Panchhi Mohalla had staged a gherao of Jugsalai thana, demanding the police to hand over the accused to them so that they may do the justice with the assailant themselves.
