Jamshedpur, Dec. 12 A major mishap was averted as a 33 KV line passing through the Kharkai bridge from Jamshedpur caught fire this evening.Power supply by Jusco to Adityapur and Gamharia in adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district was affected due to fire.
The fire is suspected to be a handiwork of unknown criminal. He tried tobroke out in the cable passing through the side of old bridge in its Bistupur area.
Apart from the power cable, two optical fibre cables (OFC) were burnt in the fire.As the news spread a fire tender reached the spot and doused the flames. Two fire tenders reached the spot and doused the flame.
A team of Jusco power official reached the spot and took control over the situation and got the power supply through the line snapped.
A senior official said that a 33 KV line has passed through Old Kharkai bridge to Adityapur where the power was being supplied to the residential areas in Adityapur and Gamharia and also to the Adityapur industrial area. He said that they have lodged a complaint with police and demanded probe.
