32,000 LED lamps to light up streets in Ranchi

Ranchi : Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) launched the Street Lighting National Programme (SLNP) in Ranchi today. Through this programme, over 32,000 existing inefficient street lights will be replaced with the energy efficient LED lights in the capital. The programme was launched in the august presence of Shri Arun Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary, Urban Development and Housing Department, Government of Jharkhand; Shri Shantanu Kumar Agrahari, Municipal Commissioner, District of Ranchi; Shri Manoj Kumar, Municipal Commissioner, District of Dhanbad. Under SLNP in Ranchi, the installation of over 32,000 LED street lights will lead to an annual energy savings of 42 lakh kWh to the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs). Further it will also help in reduction of 3,519 tonnes of CO2 annually. EESL, who is implementing the project, is the world�s largest LED street light management company. The programme is already running successfully in over 23 states and Union Territories.
