Ranchi: The name Jharkhand symbolises �land of forests�, having rich natural resources. It is replete with a variety of arts and crafts and diverse cultural heritage. By the mere participation of Jharkhand, the Surajkund Mela has been enriched by the art and beauty of this state. Artists from various parts of Jharkhand are visiting and showcasing their talent with utmost beauty and perfection.

Amidst all the fun and performances, visitors interacted with the artists performing at the fair and also with the artisans. The liveliness of the Mela was enhanced by the amusement on their face.

Poona Kumari of Dumka is exhibiting one of the finest works of Jado Patia painting on the cloth. Even the minute detailing of the work was done by her with much ease. When asked about her experience in Delhi for the first time, her eyes sparkled with joy.

Her sister, Kavita Kumari had a similar story to tell. They spoke about the facilities that have been given to them at the Surajkund Mela lodging grounds, that provided them with the necessary convenience and comfort. With elated tone, they answered that they even did paintings on the wall and are immensely enjoying the mela.

Md. Zaid Aalam of Godda district of Jharkhand owning a shop of cloth shared that he is having a really good experience in the Mela. Kavita Karn of Bokaro, Jharkhand exhibiting the paintings of Jharkhand & Krishna of Jamshedpur, exhibiting the Dokra art of Jharkhand were delighted and ecstatic by the facilities provided to them during their stay at the Mela.

Jogeshwari Mistri of Silli, Jharkhand, exhibiting the wonderful art of Chau also shares his wonderful experience of the Mela. Outside the Apna Ghar, a replica of a typical Santhal house from the Pre Aryan period, Wifaiya Brijiya of Gumla district, also expressed about his sublime stay at the site.

All the tribal artists and folk dancers, who had a lively interaction with the suave, urbane Delhiites spoke of the warmth of their living experience and were all praise for the good quality food. Sudhakar Birijiya pointed out that the water quality is the same as that of their waterfalls and �jharna� in their tribal area.
