Jamshedpur: The Graduation Ceremony of the 8th Batch of the 1-year Diploma in Office Management students of Carmel Community College, Jamshedpur was held on December 18 at Sacred Heart Convent School, Bistupur.

36 students were awarded their Diplomas.
Sowmya Jandhyala, Trust Officer of Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital was the Chief Guest, Sr. Mira A.C., Superior and Manager, Sacred Heart Convent School, Sr. Rashmita A.C. Principal, Sacred Heart Convent School, Sr. Laveena A.C. Incharge of Carmel Community College, Jamshedpur, parents of the graduating students and teachers were present for the ceremony.

The course prepares students for Office Assistant jobs and includes the following subjects: Basic Computers, Accounting, TALLY, Communication Skills, Functional English, Life Skills & Office Management.
The students underwent a 2 months’ internship and 31 students from this batch have already got employment.

Shruti Bharti, a student of the 1-year Diploma Course in Office Management at Carmel Community College, Jamshedpur, said “I’m an Arts Graduate but no-one was willing to give me a job before I did this course because I was a fresher.”
She said that one of the faculty member Rajan Sharma had informed about the course.
“Rajan said that the fee is very less as the sisters of Sacred Heart Convent School had started this course to help needy girls. During this course, I learnt Computers, TALLY, Communication Skills and English. The sisters and teachers were very supportive.
Today, I have got a job handling and assisting in Accounts Department at Triveni Engicons, Pvt Ltd. I feel confident that I will be able to handle my job and will contribute financially towards my family,” Bharti added.
Carmel Community College has been started by the Apostolic Carmel Sisters with the aim of imparting Professional Training to underprivileged women.
The 1-year Diploma Course in Office Management was started in July 2015.
The course also offers a credit course on Event Management. The 9th batch is currently going on from 8th Sep’2023.
