3 deaths, 233 new corona cases in Jamshedpur

Jharkhand report 1044 positives, 7 deaths �

Jamshedpur, Aug 29: Coronavirus cases crossed 36,000 mark in Jharkhand with 1044 new positive cases on Saturday, August 29. While the tally has climbed to 6445 in Jamshedpur with 233 fresh corona cases reported till the filing of this report late on Saturday evening.  

7 patients died of Coronavirus while 1044 new cases were reported in Jharkhand on Saturday. Positive cases have climbed to 36857 while 397 people have lost their life due to the virus in the state including 7 on Saturday.

Jamshedpur continues to top the casualty list with 3 patients losing their life on Saturday. One each from Chatra, Palamu, Ranchi and West Singhbhum succumbed to the virus on Saturday.

845 people have recovered and were discharged from various COVID hospital�s across the state on Saturday. More than 23000 people have recovered in Jharkhand till date while around 12000 active cases are still present in Jharkhand.

In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has crossed 6400 mark.     

233 new cases were reported on Saturday, August 29 taking the East Singhbhum tally to 6445. 168 people recovered of the virus on Saturday in Jamshedpur. 3687 people have recovered and have been discharged in Jamshedpur.

The district administration spokesperson informed that 233 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Saturday.

According to East Singhbhum administration report, 190 people have died of coronavirus in Jamshedpur till the filing of this report on late Saturday evening including 3 deaths reported on August 29.

The number of deaths in the East Singhbhum seems to have more than just doubled in a period of four weeks. If 37 deaths were reported in the district in July in August alone 166 people have died because of the virus. Unofficially the total number of deaths has crossed 200. On average six have died per day in the past one month.  

The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease.

The Jharkhand government has ordered an extension of lockdown related restrictions in the state outside containment zones, up to August 31, due to COVID-19 cases.

Meanwhile, Jharkhand government issued measures for the implementation of interstate quarantine protocol, to all Additional Chief Secretary, DGP, Principal Secretary, IG and Deputy IG.

The order said that �All economic activities permitted prior to this order shall remain permitted.�
