3-day handloom exhibition opens at The Milanee

Jamshedpur, Sept 18: Adhar Mahila Shilpa Udyog�s handicrafts and textile collection exhibition opened at The Milanee on Friday, September 18.

The three-day exhibition showcases handicraft products like terracotta, Dhokra, ceramic, Mix metal etc. Adhar with its venture into textile weaving and designing has also brought to town some extraordinary work of art in form of Kurtis, Sarees, Stoles, Dupatta etc.

Debashish Chakraborty of Adhar said that by means of this exhibition we want to bring to this urban crowd the extraordinary talent of the ordinary rural population of Jharkhand. The handicraft unit has been running for the last 8 years in Bundu, a village 40 km from Ranchi where major population comprises mainly tribal and BPL categories.

The concept of Adhar which is a cooperative society registered under Jharkhand Govt. intends to set up working place based on individual entrepreneurship for the underprivileged women of this community.
