29 Jamshedpur teachers issued show cause notices for failing to record biometric attendance

Jamshedpur, July 25: The District Education Officer (DEO) issued show cause notices to 29 teachers from East Singhbhum district on Wednesday. These teachers failed to record their online biometric attendance in the e-VidyaVahini system from July 1 to 15. The DEO has demanded explanations from the teachers within 24 hours.

The teachers involved include those from rural schools in Baharagora, Chakulia, Dumaria, Dhalbhumgarh, Musabani, Patmada, Ghatshila, Haldipokhar, Potka, and Bodam, as well as urban area schools like Tribal Plus Two High School Sitaramdera, Rajasthan Vidya Mandir, and Hindustan Mitramandal. The DEO emphasized the seriousness of the issue, noting that it represents a disregard for the orders of higher officials.

Six-month salary withheld for para teachers

In another development, the Education Department has withheld the pending six-month salary of para teachers in East Singhbhum. Despite clear instructions from Jharkhand Education Project Council Director Aditya Ranjan one and a half months ago to release the pending salaries, payments have not been made. The directive for salary payments was issued on June 8, yet with July nearing its end, the salaries remain unpaid.

The DEO has warned that if the teachers fail to provide satisfactory explanations for not recording their biometric attendance, their salary payments from July 1 to July 15 will be withheld.
