285 teachers attend Capacity Building Programme at DAV Bistupur

Teachers Must Apply New Learning in Classrooms: Pragya Singh

Jamshedpur, June 18: DAV Public School, Bistupur, hosted a three-day Capacity Building Programme for teachers of Jharkhand Zone-E from June 16 to 18 as part of the mandatory five-day DAV CAE Training programme. A total of 285 teachers from seven DAV schools participated in the workshop.

Teachers from DAV Sijua, Sindri, Mugma, Bahragora, Mahuda, Khalari and DAV Public School, Bistupur attended subject-specific sessions conducted by peer-trained master trainers. The training covered English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Commerce, Computer Science, Art, Music, Dance and Sports.

Addressing the participants, ARO-cum-Principal of DAV Public School, Bistupur, Pragya Singh, emphasized the importance of implementing the strategies and activities learned during the training in classroom teaching. She also urged teachers to focus on fundamental concepts in every chapter to improve students’ understanding and learning outcomes.

Throughout the three days, resource persons conducted sessions on innovative teaching methods, experiential learning, competency-based education, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Teachers also discussed the latest syllabus revisions and shared effective classroom practices adopted across DAV schools.

The second day focused on reflective learning and skill-based teaching approaches, while the final day highlighted interdisciplinary learning and practical strategies for competency-based assessment. Sessions were designed for teachers from primary to senior secondary levels, with an emphasis on making students active participants in the learning process.

The programme concluded on Thursday with feedback and reflection sessions. Participants described the workshop as academically enriching and professionally rewarding, while organizers highlighted the active involvement of teachers as a key factor behind its success.
