Jamshedpur: The police arrested a 28-year-old criminal with a sophisticated loaded pistol from near Radio Maidan in Dhatkidih under Bistupur police station area around midnight. The person identified as Mohammed Jaheed has a criminal record. He used to work as an air-conditioner mechanic before indulging in criminal activity.
Officer-in-charge, Bistupur police station, Ranvijay Sharma said late night on Sunday, acting on a tip off they nabbed the criminal.
A team of police officials was sent to the spot. Led by sub-inspector Pradeep Oraon, the team detected the two criminals and nabbed them. When they saw a police party nearing, one of them succeeded to flee through a narrow lane and whereas the other one was caught,” said Sharma. During the probe, the police found a 7.65 MM loaded pistol from the possession of Jaheed.
” Jaheed is also a resident of Dhatkidih. He did not reveal who they were waiting for with a loaded pistol. The criminal, however, divulged the name and whereabouts of his associate who managed to escape. We also could know about the criminal’s background during his interrogation today,” said the OC.
