26 couples tie the knot in Baharagora

Jamshedpur: As many as 26 couples tied the nuptial knot at a mass wedding programme organized in Baharagora on Saturday. The chief guest of the occasion was the MP of Jamshedpur Bidyut Baran Mahato while the special guest was MLA Laxman Tudu.

The programme was organized by Dr Dineshanand Goswami, former state BJP president. The newlyweds were given gifts by the organizers and visitors. Their wedding was held in 26 mandaps specially built for the occasion.

In his address, the Jamshedpur MP praised Goswami for organizing the mass wedding for the welfare of poor couples. He said Rs 30,000 each would be given to the 26 brides under the Kanyadan scheme of the state government. The amount would be sent directly to their bank accounts. Free LPG connections would also be given to the couples under the Ujjwala scheme.
