259 MRRs will be constructed in three years: CM

Ranchi, May 10: Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Tuesday said that the construction of Modern Record Rooms (MRR) in 259 blocks will be completed in three years. He said that it will keep records related with land protected in the latest way and it will be available in digital form.

According to Das, land records will be made available to the people, which will decrease land litigation, middleman-ship and corruption. The CM said it while laying foundation stone for the modern record rooms (first phase) at 9 places of 8 districts apart from Lohardaga and Gumla under Digital India Land Record Modernization Project (DILRMP).

He said that all necessary works including corresponding with the Government of India, if necessary, should be done to continue this project. MRR will not face scarcity of funds.

DILRMP is sponsored by the Union government which seeks to develop a system to modernize and protect the records of the state. The Land Reforms and Revenue Department is constructing MRR on 38 places in the financial year 2016-17 and each MRR will cost Rs. 31.30 lakh.

Secretary to the CM-cum-IT secretary Sunil Kr. Burnwal, Director, Land Reforms and Revenue Department and other officers were present on this occasion.
