25-year-old youth found murdered in Adityapur

Jamshedpur: In a disturbing incident, the lifeless body of a 25-year-old youth was discovered in the RIT Thana area of Adityapur on Tuesday morning. Identified as Sonaram Kerai, originally from Sonua block in West Singhbhum, the victim had been residing in a rented house in Beldih Bustee in Adityapur.

Sonaram, employed as a laborer on construction sites, left his house in the evening accompanied by a friend but failed to return home. Tragically, in the morning, his mutilated body was found concealed within a bush at Krishnapur near DLD Company. The gruesome nature of the crime suggests that the victim may have suffered fatal head injuries, indicating a possible assault.

Upon receiving information about the grim discovery, a police team promptly arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and dispatched it to Seraikela Sadar Hospital for postmortem examination. Simultaneously, the police informed the victim’s family members and facilitated the filing of an FIR against unknown assailants.

Vinay Kumar, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of RIT Thana, expressed that Sonaram’s friend, who had been in his company the previous evening, is under suspicion. “It is learned that both Sonaram and his friend had consumed liquor. A potential altercation might have ensued between them, leading to a fatal outcome. The friend is suspected of inflicting the injuries resulting in Sonaram’s tragic demise,” said Kumar.

The OC further stated that efforts to locate the friend have been initiated, but he remains elusive. Law enforcement authorities are actively conducting raids at probable hideouts in a bid to apprehend the suspect and shed light on the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident. As the investigation unfolds, the community is left in shock and grief over the untimely and violent end to Sonaram Kerai’s life.
