Jamshedpur, Feb 11: A 25-year-old youth was found lying dead behind Ghaghidih Central Jail in the suburban Ghaghidih under Parsudih police station area this morning. The unknown assailants had killed the youth by hitting him with boulders at the spot, leaving the body in a pool of blood.
Though identity of the victim is yet to be established but police claimed that he must had been picked up from outside his home and taken behind Ghaghidih Central Jail where he was bludgeoned to death.
Police reached the spot after the news spread about the bludgeoned body lying there at about 7 am today. Deputy superintendent of police (law and order) Alok Ranjan and Parsudih police station OC, Ajay Kumar rushed to the spot.
The police kept the body at the spot for over two hours waiting for the people to identify. Though a large number of local residents gathered at the spot, and several of them apparently tried to identify the body, but it could not succeed.
The face of the victim was not able to be recognised. A team of forensic experts had been pressed into service for getting fingerprints and any other clue to the assailants.
The DSP (law and order) said they are investigating the incident. They will soon reveal the assailants involved in the murder as well as the murder victim. “We are investigating and working on different angles. As of now no one has turned up to claim the body which has been shifted to MGM Medical College mortuary for post-mortem.,” said Ranjan
