25 kg banned polythene seized in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, June 8: A team of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) officials raided a shop in Sakchi market and seized 25 kg banned polythene kept in its premises. A sum of Rs 15,000 was collected in fine from the shop owner. The team was led by Town Manager of JNAC Jyoti Punj Pandey.

The team also confiscated goods from roadside vendors and cart owners for encroaching main road in Sakchi and also fined them.

Earlier, the JNAC team had collected Rs 50,000 from a shop for storing banned polythene. Several flying squads of JNAC have been conducting raids in the city on a regular basis with the view to stop use and storage of banned polythene bags.
