Jamshedpur, July 21: The 24th annual Ramarcha Puja, a significant religious event in Jamshedpur, concluded on Sunday under the patronage of local MLA Saryu Roy. Coinciding with Guru Purnima, the elaborate ceremony took place at the Baridih office premises, drawing devotees to participate in the worship of Lord Ram, his family, and supporters.
The puja began in the morning with the purification of the altar and surroundings, followed by Shanti Path and worship of various deities. The main ritual involved a four-stage worship process, each covering different aspects of Hindu mythology. The first stage focused on Mata Gauri and Lord Shiva, along with thirteen other deities. The second stage saw the invocation of 21 deities from Ayodhya, while the third stage cantered on the family of Lord Ram. The final stage was dedicated to Lord Ram and Sita Mata.
The altar, central to the puja, was a sight to behold. Decorated with banana pillars, marigold garlands, and a centrally placed Kalash, it served as the focal point for the gathered devotees. As the day progressed, the ceremony concluded with havan, aarti, and the distribution of prasad among the attendees.
Notable figures present at the event included Ashutosh Rai, Parul Singh, and Dharmendra Tiwari, among others. The rituals were conducted by a team of priests, including Vinod Pandey and Ghanshyam Mishra, under the guidance of Gaurikant Thakur from Begusarai.
The puja’s conclusion marks the beginning of further celebrations. A Rudrabhishek is scheduled for Monday morning, followed by the distribution of Mahaprasad. The organizers have prepared a pandal in the Ramarcha ground for this purpose, where thousands of devotees are expected to partake in the prasad, including the famous ‘Hathi Kaan’ puris made by artisans from Buxar.
