22 new corona cases in Jamshedpur, tally rises to 647

Ranchi/Jamshedpur, July 10: Jharkhand for the fourth day in a trot on Friday, July 10 recorded 100 plus cases.

Coronavirus cases in Jharkhand have crossed 3500 mark with 157 new cases reported on Friday, July 10. With 157 new cases the state tally has risen to 3519.

In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has reached 647. With 22 new cases reported on Friday, July 10 the total cases in East Singhbhum district stands at 647. July 7 saw maximum cases being reported in single day in Jamshedpur with 58 positives. Earlier 43 cases came up on May 30 while July 2 recorded 45 cases in a single day.

The district administration spokesperson informed that 22 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Friday. 25 patients in East Singhbhum district have recovered of which 19 were discharged from TMH and 6 from Tata Motors Hospital COVID-19 ward.

Of the new positives on Friday, 13 persons have travel history while 9 persons came in contact with other COVID patients.

4 persons each have returned from Gujarat and Mumbai, 2 from Kolkata, 1 from Patna, 1 from Ranchi and 1 from Hyderabad.  

Of the new positives in Jamshedpur, 3 persons are resident of Sundernagar, 6 Mango, 1 Sakchi, 2 Kadma, 2 Baridih, 1 Sakchi, 1 Sidhgora, 1 Birsanagar, 4 Chakulia, 1 Birsanagar.

Other positives in Jharkhand are from Ranchi 25, Pakur 17, Chatra 14, Lohardaga 14, West Singhbhum 14, Hazaribagh 13, Dhanbad 8, Garhwa 8, Koderma 5, Sahebganj 5, Giridih 3, Palamu 3, Latahar 2, Ramgarh 2, Dumka 1 and Godda 1 taking the state corona tally to 3519.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state is 1271 and fatalities at 23 while 2224 people have recovered and discharged from the hospital. 2191 corona patients tested positive are migrant workers who returned to Jharkhand after May 1.

The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. East Singhbhum district accounts for 647 cases out of a total of 3519. The state has imposed lockdown till July 31. Religious places, malls, saloon, spas, schools, colleges will remain closed till July 31.
