22, 244 cheer for Tiri and Jamshedpur FC

Jamshedpur, Jan. 21: A capacity crowd of 22, 244 people filled the JRD Stadium on Sunday for one of the biggest football events in the city. Being a Sunday, people from different parts of the city flocked the stadium and were treated to stunning football match where hosts Jamshedpur FC defeated Delhi Dynamos 3-2 after being down 2-0 in the first 28 minutes of the game. The second home win for the Men in Red has taken them to the fifth position in the ISL points table and now Jamshedpur FC have a firm chance of making it to the qualifiers.

As Jose Luis Espinosa Arroyo alias Tiri the captain of Jamshedpur FC side scored the first goal for the hosts in the 29th minute, the crowd went berserk.
Yumnam Raju scored in the 54th minute to equal the scoring and the 86th minute goal by Trindade Goncalves sealed the victory for the hosts.

The match against Delhi Dynamos was the sixth home game for the Men of Steel and the people of the Steel City have made it a habit of turning out in big numbers to support the home side. This being the debut season for Tata Steel owned franchisee, the performance of Jamshedpur FC has been excellent doubled up with brilliant crowd support on all six outings.

The jam packed galleries welcomed both the teams and enthusiasm was electric like the first five games. Football fans started queuing up at the stadium in Bistupur well before 3 pm.

School and college kids turned out in their droves to get a glimpse of Tiri and Co along with some of the big names in Delhi side.

The fans are considered the 12th man in a game of football, and the Jamshedpur FC fans have and will always give their all in that capacity.

Unmindful of the winter chill, the fans cheered every time the Jamshedpur FC’s star striker Wellington Priori got the ball.

JFC t-shirts were also selling like hotcakes as citizens in large number specially the school students were spotted buying the jersey from vendors outside the stadium.

The craze for the sixth home match of JFC escalated after the Tata Steel owned franchise registered its first home win of the season against the Kerala Blasters on January 17.

The Jamshedpur FC officials were obviously delighted at the massive turnout.
Showing their sportsmanship, the fans also applauded the every brilliant pass by the Delhi Dynamos players.

Jamshedpur FC’s Tiri collected the Club Award as Jamshedpur FC win the game. The Moment of the Match was given to Kalu Uche of Delhi Dynamos for his first goal. The Winning Pass of the Match Award was awarded to Jamshedpur’s Jerry Mawihmingthanga for his assist to the first goal. Tiri won the Fittest Player of the Match Award while Nandhakumar Sekar bagged the Emerging Player of the Match Award. Wellington Priori bagged the Hero of the Match award.
