Jamshedpur : A 21-year-old married woman made an abortive bid on her life at her in-law’s house in Zone No 3 under Birsanagar police station area late last night.The newly-wed Shikharani Rawat was rushed to Tata Main Hospital by the in-law people soon after they noticed her hanging from the ceiling fan.
The young woman had shut herself in her room and bolted before taking the bid on her life.
Shikha was admitted at the Tata Main Hospital at about 10 pm on Wednesday, and her condition continues to be serious.
Shikha was married to Swarajeet (28), an employee at a local private company, in February this year.
The relative on condition of anonymity said that Shikha’s parents reside at Baharagora and they have been informed about their daughter.
OC, Birsanagar police station, Bhushan Kumar said they are aware about a young woman being admitted at the Tata Main Hospital after an abortive bid of suicide, but they have not yet got any complaint or statement from anyone in connection to this incident.
