21 cataract surgeries performed at 618th dist IRCS camp in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Oct 17:  Twenty one cataract surgeries were performed at the 618th free eye cure camp organized by the East Singhbhum district chapter of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) at Ram Manohar Netralay in Bagbera in association with Chimanlal Bhalotia Seva Sansthan, Rajasthan Seva Sadan and the District Rural Health Committee along with the Netralay management.

Noted eye surgeon, Dr B P Singh, accompanied by senior eye specialists Dr Poonam Singh, Dr Bharati Sharma and Dr Vivek Kedia performed the operations for cataract removal today and implanted lenses as per requirement.  This eye camp which commenced on October 16 with registration and screening of patients will culminate with operated patients being discharged on October 18 after post-operative checks and provision of necessary medication.

Sponsored by Marwadi Mahila Manch and All India Marwadi Mahila Sammelan, this free eye camp had witnessed a large number of patients with eye problems for consultation and treatment.  Twenty one among the patients were shortlisted on October 16 for cataract removal surgery.

Those present on the occasion along with district IRCS Hon Secretary Bijay Kumar Singh and Ram Manohar Lohia Seva Sansthan President Balmukund Goel were Jaya Dokania, Lata Agarwal, Seema Jawanpuria, Seema Agarwal, Shilpi Agarwal, Annu Mittal and officer bearers of the sponsoring organizations.
