Jamshedpur : A 20-year-old youth was found bludgeoned to death at Kalyan Nagar under Sitaramdera police station area on Monday morning.
The murder victim was identified as Bir Singh Bhuiyan, a resident of adjoining Indra Nagar at Bhuiyadih in Sitaramdera.
Bir Singh was an auto-rickshaw driver and was missing from his house from 5 pm on Sunday. His body was found lying in a pool of blood in front of the house of Nandlal Das.
According to information, blood was oozing out of the victim’s nose, mouth and ears from the victim, who was an auto-rickshaw driver by profession.
The head was ruptured as the assailants had hit it with boulders.
In this connection, the police have registered a case of murder against unknown on the FIR lodged by Narsingh Bhuiyan, brother of the murder victim. The police have removed the body from the spot and sent it to the MGM Medical College mortuary for post-mortem.
Officer-in-charge, Sitaramdera police station, Rameswar Oraon said the murder of Bir Singh was a result of affair with a girl who stays in Indra Nagar and murder took place past midnight.
“We are investigating the incident. At present we have succeeded to know the persons involved in the murder and also the reason behind it. But we cannot disclose the names at this point of time as the assailant may flee the locality,” Oraon said.
Narsingh said Sunday being Christmas his brother returned home early at 4 pm and had gone out of the home in an hour, but did not return home in the night.
“We are in state of shock and donít know who the people were. We thought he must have gone somewhere with his friends and did not search for him.
In the morning, someone in my neighbourhood informed me that my brother’s body was lying at Indra Nagar. I ran and found the information to be true,” said Narsingh, adding that he has no idea who might have murdered his brother.
