20-year-old youth electrocuted at Bhuiyandih

Jamshedpur : In a tragic incident a 20-year-old youth who worked as a cleaner in a truck was electrocuted at Bhuiyandih under Sidhgora police station area. The victim, Golu Kumar, was rushed to Tata Main Hospital where he was declared as brought dead.

The mishap took place near Agrico-Sitaramdera Road in Bhuiyandih under Sidhgora police station area. The victim was a resident of Nalanda district of Bihar and was working in the transport company owned by Rupesh Kumar, who is also from the Nalanda district.

According to an eyewitness, the victim Golu had climbed on the top of the truck cabin after the vehicle had been parked adjoining the boundary wall of a local company. The truck was empty and the driver of the truck Brij Mohan Singh wanted to get it parked there as there as a vacant space.

Sub-inspector of police, Vikrama Ram who is investigating the case said that the youth Golu Kumar died of electroctution. ” As per our information an 11 KVA line was passing through the Litti Chowk area from very low level, and unfortunately the deceased who was the helper in a truck had stood on the cabin roof of the truck unaware that the high-tension line over his head. Incidentally he had come in contact with the power line, resulting in his electrocution,” said Ram who is also officiating as officer-in-charge, Sidhgora police station.

Ram said that they have informed the deceased’s parents about the incident and also seized the truck before sending the body to the MGM Medical College mortuary for post-mortem.
